Congratulations to our 2024 Graduates!

Our 2024 NHS Market Access Accelerator programme concluded on 28 November with the cohort pitching their businesses and products to potential investors from our investor network.

The pitch culminated with a graduation ceremony, attended by mentors, programme sponsors and members of TheHill team; an opportunity to review the successes and highlights of the cohort in a celebration of their achievements during the six month programme.

Those on the programme gained first-hand insights into the inner workings of the NHS and have been able to develop their offering, collaborating with key clinical and operational staff across Oxford University NHS Foundation Trust, all while being supported by highly qualified and experienced mentors.

Natalie Cooke, co-founder and CEO of SurgeryAI.com, a participant in the programme, commented:

Our experience with TheHill’s Market Access Accelerator has been transformative for SurgeryAI.com. As the only accelerator embedded within an NHS trust, TheHill has connected us to key stakeholders at Oxford University Hospitals, allowing us to test and validate our solution in the most appropriate clinical setting. The programme’s support, from experts in regulatory compliance to the Trust’s CFO, has provided invaluable insights across critical areas. I highly recommend it to any startup aiming to innovate within the NHS’

William Arinze, CEO of TDR Aero and another participant in the programme continued:

“Our experience with TheHill’s Market Access Accelerator (MAA) has been invaluable for TDR Aero. The unique position of TheHill within Oxford University Hospitals (OUH) has provided us with unprecedented access to key stakeholders and insights critical for navigating the healthcare landscape. Through engaging sessions with influential leaders such as OUH CFO Jason Dorsett and patent attorney Jessie Harrison, we’ve been able to advance our IP development and gain a deeper understanding of the regulatory environment of the National Health Service. A notable part of the MAA programme is the mentorship provided by TheHill’s experts which has been instrumental in guiding our strategy as we work towards implementing our solutions within the UK.”

Rowan Mould, Start-Up Accelerator Manager added:

“We are thrilled to celebrate the success of another MAA cohort as we wrap up the 2024 programme. As this year’s cohort can attest, the MAA is a unique opportunity for companies that are focused on working with the NHS, giving founders unrivalled access to clinical and operational teams alongside insights from senior leaders, successful founders, and leading industry experts. As we come to the end of one programme, we need to acknowledge the contributions of our experts, partners, and mentors who add so much value to the programme and give their time so generously to support the founders on our programme. It is their expert insight and mentorship, alongside the relentless work of our innovation engagement team, that has created a truly valuable programme for healthtech founders. That being said, the journey doesn’t end here, and we look forward to continuing to work with our 2024 cohort as they change healthcare in the UK for the better. If you are innovating in health and care and are looking to work with the NHS, the MAA programme has the potential to lead to transformational change and growth in your journey, giving you the opportunity to work with world-leading clinicians, whilst gaining a deep understanding of how things work ‘behind the scenes’. It’s an opportunity not to be missed out on.”
